Abstract
Rotary furnace and heat exchanger plant is supplied with hot air, with simultaneous cooling of the furnace material in a following tube cooler with attached satellite coolers. The total flow of air is conducted counter-current to the material through the satellite coolers and is divided into two before entry into the tube cooler. One partial stream passes through the tube cooler as secondary air to the rotary tube furnace, and the other is directly fed to the heat exchanger system. Preferably the total flow of air is sucked through fans downstream of the heat exchange system into the satellite coolers. The total flow of air needed for cooling the furnace material is used in the plant.
