794,731. Mine roof supporting bars. COAL INDUSTRY (PATENTS), Ltd. June 11, 1956 [March 10, 1955], No. 7103/55. Class 20(2) Mine roof bars each comprise a female extension of two members 3 at one end and a male extension of one or two members 4 at the other and the bars are connected by these extensions which are locked by a wedge 10 in an aperture 9 in the male end of one bar engaging shaping surfaces on the female end 3 of the other bar, cut on to the lower surfaces of the bars engage stops 6, 8 on the other bar to prevent relative longitudinal movement of the bars. The invention is shown applied to Hand box section bars.
