Abstract
1,113,058. Mineface conveyers. COAL INDUSTRY (PATENTS) Ltd. 15 Oct., 1965 [20 Oct., 1964; 23 Feb., 1965], Nos. 42722/64 and 7797/65. Heading B8A. An anchor station for staking a mining conveyer (not shown) comprises two units each having a main or floor beam 1 slidable in a slide member 2 and connected thereto by an hydraulically-operated double-acting ram 3. The slide member 2 is staked in position by hydraulic members 4 and the conveyer is attached to the floor beams 1. The conveyer and slide members 2, together with the staker members 4, are advanced in the normal way, one unit at a time. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), the slide members 2 are of box section and the rams 3 are housed within the beams 1 and the members 2. Hoses delivering pressure fluid to the rams may be conduits arranged concentrically and telescopically to allow for relative movement of the beam and slide member. A further ram may be provided between the two slide members to maintain a constant distance between the two beams.
