Abstract
1,114,172. Mineface conveyers. COAL INDUSTRY (PATENTS) Ltd. 19 Aug., 1965 [25 Aug., 1964], No. 34749/64. Heading B8A. All the components of an anchoring arrangement for a mine face conveyer 6 are mounted on the goaf side and include a beam assembly 2 connected by brackets 7 to the conveyer. The beam assembly comprises two I-section girders 8 but may consist of a single beam. An hydraulic chock 1 is fixed to the end of the assembly 2 remote from the conveyer but a second chock 5 is mounted on a base straddling the assembly 2. This base is slidable relative to the assembly 2 and is connected to the remote end of the assembly by conveyer advancing jacks 3, 4.
