Abstract

930,838. Advancing mine roof supports. GULLICK Ltd. July 18, 1961 [Aug. 31, 1960], No. 29964/60. Class 20 (2). An advancing mine roof support system comprises a master chock A, slave chocks B and, if desired, sub-support chocks C, see Fig. 1 (not shown), the master chock consisting of two units A<SP>1</SP>, A<SP>2</SP> connected respectively to the cylinder 16 and piston-rod 16a of a ram 10. The units A<SP>2</SP>, B are interconnected by telescopic links 26 and incorporate abutment plates 24 and doubleacting hydraulic rams 16b, 16c, as shown. The rams of the supports B are coupled to the conveyer in such a manner as to allow relative longitudinal displacement, see Figs. 6-10 (not shown).
