[Also in Group XL (c)1 In a flowmeter, in which electric pulses are generated at a frequency proportional to the rate of flow of liquid to be measured, for example of the type described in Specification 752,496, the pulses are fed to a counter-ratemeter through an amplifier (see Group XL (c)) the gain of which is inversely proportional to the frequency of the pulses. As described, the pulses are generated by a vaned rotor mounted in the flow channel and carrying a magnet which induces pulses in a coil outside the channel. The amplitude of these pulses is proportional to the rate of flow but the effect of the pre-amplifier is to produce pulses of constant amplitude.
