Abstract
1,260,840. Induction flowmeters. NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORP. May 6, 1969 [May 10, 1968], No.22411/68. Heading G1N. In an induction flowmeter for measuring the flow rate of blood, the magnetic field is provided by an electromagnet comprising a collar of laminated ferromagnetic material C C<SP>1</SP> on which is wound a winding W having uniformly spaced turns, the direction of the winding being reversed at the point on the collar opposite to the slot A A<SP>1</SP>. Platinum electrodes E1, E 2 are recessed into the tube T and strips S 1 , S 2 of ferromagnetic material reduce the magnetic field near the electrodes. Screening may be provided within and outside the collar.
