885,617. Measuring angular velocity electrically. UNITED AIRCRAFT CORPORATION. July 20, 1960, No. 25328/60. Class 40 (1). A capacitor 28 is charged from a battery 20 through a meter 32, and discharged each time a permanent magnet 12 attached to the periphery of a rotating member 10 passes coil 14, producing a pulse which makes transistor 18 conductive. The average charging current, indicated by meter 32, is dependent on the frequency with which capacitor 28 is discharged, and is thus indicative of the angular velocity of the member 10.
