899,911. Measuring speed electrically. GURRY, G. W., and McCARTHY, B. F. May 20, 1960 [May 21, 1959], No. 17309/59. Class 40 (1). [Also in Group XXXVI] The speed of rotation of an earthed shaft 18 is sensed by the probe 17 and protuberance 19, the cyclic capacitance changes producing a pulse train at the same frequency over capacitor 22, which is amplified to drive a trigger circuit and square-wave generator energizing a frequency meter, indicating shaft speed.
