Abstract
791,591. Steam superheaters. SUPERHEATER O., Ltd. and STEWART, W. June 30, 1955 [June 30, 1954], No. 19180/54. Class 123(3) A smoke tube superheater element comprises large bore inlet and outlet pipes 1, 8 having return bends 2, 7 at their respective ends to which are connected bifurcating pieces 3, 6, pairs of small bore tubes 4, 5 and 4a. 5a being respectively connected to the bifurcations 3, 6 whilst the other ends of tubes 4, 4a and 5, 5a are respectively connected by return bands 4b, 5b. When in position in a smoke tube 10, Fig. 4, a central core for the flow of combustion gases is provided by the symmetrical arrangement within the smoke tube of the six tubes of the superheater element.
