[Class 99 (ii)] [Also in Groups XIII and XII] A soot-blower in a thimble-tube boiler comprises a casing consisting of two tubular shells 15, 16 disposed one within the other, a steam pipe 25 communicating with the annular space to enable steam to be delivered amongst the thimble tubes through apertures 20 in the outer shell. The steam apertures 20 are of diverging nozzle shape. Specification 422,612, [Group XIII], is referred to.
