Abstract

535,027. Steam superheaters. SUPERHEATER CO., Ltd. (Schmidt'sche Heissdampf-Ges). Sept. 25, 1939, No. 26612. [Class 123 (iii)] In a smoke-tube super-heater element having flow and return limbs 5, 6 opening into a Fieldtube portion at the smoke-box end of the element the ends of the limbs are united by a breeches-like union 7 formed for example as described in Specifications 6304/15, 120042, [both in Class 99 (i)], and 355,414, [Group XXII], and the inner tube 12 of the Field-tube portion is secured in the end of one of the limbs and the outer tube 10 is welded to the union 7. The tube 12 is positioned in the outer tube by radial ugs 15. Two or more limb tubes may open into the outer tube 10 of the Field-tube portion. The tube 10 may be made of heat-resisting steel and may be formed with external ribs. Specifications 408,651, [Group XXII], and 413,506 also are referred to.
