Abstract

541,691. Steam superheaters. SUPERHEATER CO., Ltd. (Compagnie des Surchauffeurs). June 5, 1940, No. 9831. [Class 123(iii)] In a smoke-tube superheater element of the kind in which .a number of inflow tubes 8 surround a central return tube 6, the smoke-box ends of the inflow tubes are formed with bends 10 to permit differential expansion between the tubes. A portion of the length of the inflow tubes may be provided with fins 9. In an element in which the inflow tubes are replaced by annular tubes around the return tube, the smoke box end of the annular tube is connected to the saturated steam header by a tube bent around the return tube.
