Abstract

791,579. Mops. AMERICAN-MARIETTA CO. July 18, 1956 [July 25, 1955], No. 22207/56. Class 19. In a sponge mop two squeeze plates 22 are pivotally attached by lost motion connections 29, 30 to a frame 27, 28 and to links 19 in turn pivotally connected by arms 16 rigid with a handle 10 of the mop. A control 30, 31 is secured to the frame 27, 28 and extends up into the handle 10 to be hooked over a rod 15 extending out through slots 13 in the handle 10. A sponge is attached to the plates 22 and frame 27, 28. Movement of the rod 31 upwards causes movement of the squeeze plates towards each other and the wringing out of the sponge.
