793,981. Mops. TIPPING, W. F. Dec. 10, 1956 [Dec. 8, 1955], No. 35238/55. Class 19. A mop having a sponge 26 or a string head carried on pivotally connected plates 17, 18 arranged so that the sponge may be folded over to press one half against the other is characterized in that the top surface of the sponge or head is secured to a mounting by elements 25 which are slidably carried in guides 20, 21 on said plates so as to be detachable therefrom. Stops at the outer ends of the guides limit the outward movement of the elements 25, preferably four or more rectangular plates bonded to the sponge or head, which are entered at the inner ends of the channels. The plates 17, 18 are spring biased to lie, when in use, in a common plane.
