In a bottom bearing for an electricity meter, an oscillating bearing socket 12 is located in the correct angular position by a sleeve 8, surrounding the socket 12 with clearance, having a slot 19 at its upper end which is engaged by a fixed projection 18 mounted on the meter frame 1 and having a projection 20 at its lower end which engages a recess 21 in a sleeve 9 which supports the bearing socket 12 through a leaf-spring 11. A shoulder 15 on the sleeve 9 is engaged by a spring 14 which in turn forces the sleeve 8 against a shoulder 16 at the top of the bearing housing 2. The housing 2 is closed at the lower end by a screwed cap 13.
