Abstract
522,357. Spectacle cases. DUNCAN, T. C. Dec. 6, 1938, No. 35506. [Class 97 (i)] A spectacle case is so constructed that the lenses of spectacles therein are maintained out of contact with the walls or lining; the construction may be such that, when the casing is closed, the spectacles are immovably held. As shown a flat-shaped case 1 with a hinged spring- lid 1a is provided with supports 2 having recesses 3 housing the lugs 4 to which the spectacle sides 6 are hinged. The supports 2 may be fixed, or may be adjustable by screws 9 on guides 7, 8, and the lid may be shaped to hold the spectacle frame in position on the supports 2. Central pads 10, 11 may also be provided. In a modification, a central support may be provided to receive the bridge of pince-nez, either in substitution for, or in addition to the supports 2. The supports may be carried by the lid, and, in any construction of case, may comprise spring clips.
