Abstract

319,845. Callender, L. J. July 4, 1928. Spectacles. - In spectacles, the joints of which are arranged to permit the removal of the lens without disturbing the temple wire and vice versa, the split lens rim 10 is provided with lugs 11, 12, each provided with a pair of holes, one pair 13, 14 serving for the reception of a screw 15 for holding the lens in place, and the other pair for engagement with a screw 21 for the temple wire 22. The wire end 24 is housed partially in each of the lugs 11, 12 as shown and has a cap 26 to cover the joint. The head of the temple wire screw 21 passes freely through the hole 27 in the lug 11 and screws into the lug 12, the temple wire pivoting freely upon it.
