[Class 12 (i)] To damp humming noises in electricity meters the cup part 15 of the footstep bearing is held in the instru ment frame by a leaf spring 12 so that it can oscillate freely only in a directior perpendicular to the general plane or the flat sides of the cores 1, 2, of the meter The spring 12 is fixec in a plug 9 by a pin 13, the ends of which engage slots 14 in a screw-threaded sleeve 6. The latter has two flattened faces and is secured in a correspondingly shaped hole in the meter frame by nuts 7, 8.
