Electromagnetic current and pressure meters.-A bearing for an index pointer a or other oscillatory member comprises a spindle f fixed to or rotatable on a part e of the apparatus, and a sleeve d rotatably mounted on the spindle f, one end of the sleeve d being closed. The closed end contacts with the pointed end g of the spindle f and is itself pointed to bear on a member i of the apparatus. The pointer a is thus sufficiently supported when in the inverted or other position. As shown, the invention is applied to a voltmeter. The damping effect can be varied by altering the length of the sleeve d.
