Zeroizing-mechanism.-In order that the index pointers of a counting train of a meter or other mechanism may be readily reset by hand movement of the separate pointers, the pointers are yieldingly mounted on collets rotationally rigid with the spindles. In the form shown in Figs. 1 and 2, a sleeve or collet formed of two parts A, B threaded together is applied to the spindle C and a. pointer D with a cupped washer E is mounted between the flanges of the parts A, B and is held against rotative movement by the friction exerted bv the washer E. The washer or the disc portion of the pointer may be serrated to bear against one or other of the collet flanges to provide the necessary friction. In another form, Figs. 7 and 8, additional security against accidental movement is provided by axial serrations on the flange A and corresponding serrations or embossing on the pointer disc.
