A brick or like grab attachment for a lift truck 2 comprises pairs of gripping plates 3 faced with rubber or like pads 6 and mounted on arms 7, 8 which are pivoted about axles 4 by fluid pressure thrusters 12 the ends of which are connected through toggle links 10 and cross bars 11 to the upper ends of the arms 7, 8.
