920,977. Grabs for handling material. SOC. FRANCAISE DE CONSTRUCTION DE BENNES AUTOMATIQUES BENOTO. Oct. 17, 1960 [Oct. 16, 1959], No. 35526/60. Class 78 (4). Rams 4 operating the jaws 8 of a grab with more than two jaws, are disposed below the pivots 9 of the jaws. The rams may be provided with pressure fluid from the hydraulic set of the crane carrying the grab, but in the form shown the pressure fluid is provided by a pump and motor set 3, 2 mounted in a housing 1 to which the grab arms 8 are hinged at 9. Plates 24 hinged at 25 to the arms slide over a fixed central platform 2 to protect the rams from dirt.
