896,531. Floating jib-cranes. DEMAG A.G. Oct. 1, 1959 [Nov. 3, 1958], No. 33382/59. Class 78 (4). The counterpoised jib 4, 6 of a floating crane may be lowered to facilitate transport by detaching the member 6 from the frame 1 at the point 5 and lowering the member 4 until borings 14 in the member 4 are aligned with similar borings in the member 6 when the members 4, 6 are bolted together and lowered as one unit. The connections between luffing gear 7 and the balancer 10 are released at 8a and 12a, respectively, and the counterpoise system can then be lowered on to a support.
