Abstract

1,065,629. Mobile Jib cranes. SCHWERMASCHINENBAU S. M. KIROW, VEB. Oct. 1, 1965, No. 41744/65. Heading B8B. A mobile jib crane has an auxiliary jib 4, pivoted at 5, which may be swung forwards to support the main jib 11 whilst it is disconnected from its pivot point 3, or rearwardly to unload counterweights 20. To detach the jib 11 it is first disconnected from a telescopic strut 13 and then lowered to the position illustrated in Fig. 2 (not shown). A block and tackle 16, 17 is suspended from the jib 4 and is used to support the jib 11 whilst the upper portion is detached from the foot 2 at 18. By rigging the jib 4 as shown in Fig. 4 (not shown), counterweights 20 may be unloaded. Fig. 5 (not shown) illustrates the disposition of the parts when the crane is to be transported.
