Abstract

920,918. Grab excavators. J. N. MANTEL, and R. MANTEL. June 19, 1961 [Sept. 30, 1960; Jan. 30, 1961], No. 21995/61. Class 68 (1). The boom 5 supporting the grab 8 of the excavator is of such configuration and is so pivotally mounted on the mobile chassis 1 of the excavator that the grab can be swung from a position beyond one side of the chaissis to a position over the chassis and a shoot 11 that extends beyond the other side of the chassis to direct clear of said side material drop from the grab on to the shoot. Linkage 15, 16 between the boom 5 and the arms by which the shoot 11 is pivotally mounted on the chassis ensure of the shoot being positioned beneath the grab when the grab is over the chassis.
