Abstract

958,750. Mounting auxiliary cranes on mobile jib-cranes. REDLER CONVEYORS Ltd. Jan. 18, 1963 [April 19, 1962], No. 15317/62. Heading B8B. An auxiliary jib 11, Fig. 1, comprising upper and lower members 24, 39 is pivotally attached to a section of the jib 10 of a mobile crane so that intermediate sections of the jib 10 may be easily loaded and unloaded. The jib 11 may be pivoted to either end of upper and lower support members 12, 30, Fig. 2, which are clamped to the upper and lower surfaces respectively of the jib 10 by U-bolts 15, 34, Fig. 1. A lifting tackle may be attached to the jib by a member 47. The upper and lower pivot points of the jib 11 are vertically aligned. Removal of pivot pins 28, 40 allows the jib 11 to be detached and folded about a pivot 44 for storage.
