Abstract

A mobile crane comprises a rotatable table 1 mounted on a vehicle pivotally carrying a telescopic jib 3 and a telescopic jib arm 4 shown folded alongside the jib 3 in Fig. 1 in the transport position. Figs. 3, 4 (not shown), illustrate how the jib 3 and the jib arm 4 are extended by a piston and cylinder device (11 inside the jib 3, the device (11) then being connectible to the jib arm 3 to effect luffing of the jib arm 3. The jib 3 may be pivoted about pivot 29 by an extensible hydraulic device 2. Fig. 5 shows the complete apparatus used as a tower crane, while, with the jib arm 4 removed, as shown in Fig. 6, the jib 3 may be used conventionally.
