894,124. Mobile jib cranes. DUSTERLOH FABRIK FUR BERGWERKSBEDARF G.m.b.H., G. Aug. 14, 1958 [Aug. 14, 1957], No. 26197/58. Class 78 (4). The jib of a mobile crane for use in mine! comprises pivoted sec tions 11, 12 which may be locked by pins 15 ir the position shown or may be folded down when not in use, by re moving the pins 15 and pulling section 12 for ward allowing it to pivot down, Fig. 1 (not shown) about a spindle 16 on a ram 26 secured to the section 12, the ends o the spindle engaging in grooves 28 in the section 11. The load is raised by a rope 22 passing over a pulley 20 and a pulley 23, mounted on the ram 26, to a fixed point 24, so that extension of the ram 26 raises the load. In a modification, Fig. 5 (not shown), the pulley 20 is mounted directly on the ram 26. The jib is luffed by an hydraulic ram 17 and is mounted on a turntable 6 provided with teeth engaging a manually rotatable pinion, Fig. 2 (not shown). Four adjustable struts 36, having feet 37 which may be in the form of rollers, are provided.
