Abstract

825,702. Lift trucks. SHARP, J. R., and KAYE, E. Feb. 10, 1956 [Feb. 16, 1955], No. 4686/55. Class 78 (3). The forks 24 of a masted lift truck are mounted on arms 21, 22 pivoted to the lifting carriage 14 and are moved together to grip the load by a double-acting hydraulic thruster 25, 26. The forks 24 are adapted to be adjusted about their longitudinal axes from the positions shown to positions in which the load engaging faces, face inwardly. In a modification, Fig. 6 (not shown), the forks are kept in constant angular relationship to one another by links 34, 35.
