750,207. Lift trucks. COVENTRY CLIMAX ENGINES, Ltd. June 9, 1954, No. 16893/54. Class 78 (3). The load-engaging member of a lift truck is mounted on the lift carriage for horizontal movement perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the truck. The carriage 12 is provided with guides 13 for rollers 15 on a load carrier supporting bracket 16 which is moved across the carriage by hydraulic means (not shown). In a modification (not shown) the load carrier is supported on the carriage by a scissors or lazy tongs linkage. The load carrier may be a load gripping device, a bucket or scoop or a platform, but as shown it comprises a pair of fork members 17 adapted to hook over the top of bracket 16 so as to be slidable relative to one another and movable to the other side of the bracket.
