Class 98(1) In a photographic camera, a mounting ring is fixed to the camera body co-axially with the optical axis, a shutter unit is fixed to the inner face of the mounting ring; and a lens unit. not directly connected to the shutter unit, is mounted on the mounting ring and extends outwardly thereof. As shown in Fig. 3, the mounting ring 10 is fixed by screws 12 to the camera body 14. A shutter housing 22 has lugs 24, Fig. 1, which pass through recesses in the camera front 14 and are fastened to the mounting ring 10 by screws 28 between the screws 12. The shutter is of conventional type and is set and released by a spindle 32 engaging setting and release means (not shown) within the camera body. The shutter speed is set by a ring 34, which is connected by a lug 44 to a connector 38, which is rotatably connected to mounting ring 10 and is fixed to a shutter speed setting ring 36. The lens unit may be permanently connected to ring 10. but in the embodiment shown the lens mount 52 has lugs which engage bayonet slots in ring 10. The mount also houses an iris diaphragm 60, which is adjusted by a setting ring 62 connected to a coupling ring 68. The ring 68 has a tooth 76 which engages one of a number of recesses 78 on the connector 38. and is movable against springs 72 to disengage tooth 76 so that the relationship between the shutter speed and the diaphragm aperture may be altered..In a modification, the lens is axially movable for focusing in its interchangeable mount, and the focusing movement is transmitted to a range-finder.
