Class 98(1) In a photographic shutter coupled to an exposure meter and receiving an interchangeable lens having a built-in diaphragm in front of the shutter blades, the shutter and exposure meter are coupled by a first lever pivoted on a support fixed to the shutter casing and a second lever pivoted to the first lever and connected with a follow-up member of the exposure meter, one lever co-operating with a cam connected, through a support member mounted on the shutter structure, with a diaphragm setting member of the interchangeable lens fitted to the shutter, and the other lever co-operating with a cam connected to the shutter speed setting member. As shown in Fig. 1, the end plate 2 of the shutter housing 1 carries a sleeve 4 threaded at 4a to receive a ring 6, which engages a shoulder 5a on a lens tube 5 in which the objective is mounted. Alternatively, the lens tube may be secured by a bayonet joint. The lens tube has another' collar 5b which engages the end 4c of the sleeve 4 to locate the lens. The diaphragm (not shown) is adjusted by a ring 7, having an arm 7a which engages a cam support 9, which consists of a ring rotatable on the plate 2. Rotatable on the other side of plate 2 is a ring 8 controlling the shutter speed. This ring is connected to an actuating ring 10 rotatable on the outer rim of plate 2. A lever 11, see also Fig. 2, is pivoted at 12 to the plate 2, and a two-armed lever 13 is pivoted at 14 to the lever 11. A pin 15 on lever 11 passes through a slot 2b in the plate 2, and cooperates with a cam 9a formed on the ring 9,. while a pin 16 at one end of lever 13 co-operates with a cam 8a formed on the shutter-speed setting ring 8. A pin 24 at the other end of lever 13 engages a pin 23 on a rod 220 which passes through a bore in the mounting to rotate therein, and which is coupled to the follow-up member of the exposure meter (not shown) as described in Specification 843,952. In the form shown in Figs. 3, 4, the levers 17, 18 are pivoted about axes perpendicular to, instead of parallel to, the optical axis, and are mounted in a recess 2c formed in plate 2. Lever 17 pivots on a pin 19 on plate 2, and lever 18 pivots on a pin 20 on lever 17. A rounded nose 17a of lever 17 co-operates with a cam 9b on ring 9, and a pin 21 on lever 18 co-operates with a cam 22 formed within the actuating ring 10. A rounded nose 18a bears on the end of a rod 25, axially slidable in a bore in the mounting and coupled to the follow-up member of the exposure meter as described in Specification 843,952.
