Abstract
858,754. Reflex photographic cameras. VOIGTLANDER A. G. July 1, 1957 [July 7, 1956], No. 20711/57. Class 98(1) A single lens reflex camera with one or more exchangeable objectives has a stop pre-selecting device incorporated in the camera body and connected with the diaphragm carried in the exchange objective when mounted on the camera by linkage force-transmitting members. As shown, a camera body 1 has a tubular fitting 3 on which is rotatably held a guide ring 4 having a plurality of bayonet lugs 5 which engage behind corresponding counter lugs 6 of an exchangeable objective mount 7 to releasably attach the mount to the camera body. The iris diaphragm built in the mount 7 has blades 9 each pivoted at one end to a fixed ring 10 and at the other end to a blade adjusting ring 11 to which is attached a spring 12 so as to urge the diaphragm into the fully open position. An inclined part 13 of the ring 11 bears against a diaphragm adjusting pin 14 the other end of which bears against a second rod 15 mounted in the camera body 1 when the mount 7 is attached to the camera. The shutter time adjusting ring 26 and stop pre-selecting ring 25 are releasably coupled by a pin 30 in the latter engaging a slot 29 in the former. They are decoupled by urging the ring 26 axially downward against the spring leaf 28. In use, the ring 25 is set to the desired stop number which brings the inclined cam surface 24 attached thereto to a certain position with respect to the end 23 of a lever 18. When the shutter release button 22 is depressed, the arm 23 of the lever 18 engages the cam surface 24 whilst the other end 17 urges the rod 15 and hence the rod 14 axially upward to adjust the aperture to the required value by rotating the ring 11. The button 22 then operates the shutter by means not shown. Co-operating means are provided so that an exchangeable mount may not be attached when the indicating ring is set for an aperture greater than the maximum possible for the mount.
