571,075. Photographic lens diaphragms. KODAK, Ltd. March 1, 1944, No. 3857. Convention date. March 13, 1943. [Class 98 (i)] The iris diaphragm of a photographic lens is mounted in a shutter or other cusing, the bladeoperating ring 14 being adjusted by a pinion 21 which extends through an aperture 22 in the casing and engages a gear sector 20 on the ring. The pinion is rotated by an external gear sector 33 which is situated between the casing wall and a cover-plate 27 which prevents ingress to the casing of dirt or moisture through the aperture 22. One end of the pinion 21 is journalled in the plate 27, and the segment 33 is guided for arcuate movement by lugs 35 on it engaging curved slots 36 in the plate.
