Abstract

443,006. Optical apparatus. LEITZ GES., E., Wetzlar, Germany. Sept. 26, 1935, No. 26676. Convention date, Nov. 1, 1934. [Class 97 (i)]. An iris diaphragm comprises a rotatable ring provided with slots to guide the laminations of the diaphragm, the slots being arranged approximately opposite to the centres of rotation of the laminations and having curved shape. The laminations c, c<1> are hinged by projections d, d<1> and carry other projections f, f<1> which engage the slots b, b<1> in the rotatable ring a. The shape of the edges of the slots may be curved so that in certain positions of the ring a certain rotation of the ring a will cause a smaller change of area of the aperture than in other positions of the ring.
