763,154. Photographic cameras. DECKEL, H., and DECKEL, F. W. Nov. 11, 1954 [Nov. 13, 1953; Sept. 20, 1954] , No. 32696/54. Class 98(1) A photographic camera has an adjustable coupling between the shutter speed adjusting member and the diaphragm adjusting member and the latter member is made to operate a depth of field indicator comprising two wire indicators reading in conjunction 'with the focusing scale. Fig. 2 shows the rear view of the shutter, which comprises a diaphragm adjusting ring 26 having teeth 40 on the upper edge which teeth operate a pinion 42 and cam 44. A resilient wire 46 is fixed to the shutter and the ends 50, 52 press against cam 44 and indicate against the scale on the focusing ring (not shown). Adjustment of the aperture thus results in movement of wires 50, 52 to indicate the appropriate depth of field, which will depend on the position of the focusing ring. The shutter speed setting ring 18 has notches 36 round its lower edge. These notches co-operate with a pin 32 on a resilient arm 27 of the diaphragm adjusting ring 26. Thus the relative positions of rings 18 and 26 can be set to an exposure value scale on the front of ring 18 (not shown) depending on the light conditions, and then movement of ring 18 produces corresponding movement of ring 26 so that light entering the camera remains constant. This mechanism is the same as described in Specification 744,962. Specification 275,462 [Class 98(i)] also is referred to.
