784,746. Photographic cameras. HEIDECKE, R., and FRANKE, H., [trading as FRANKE & HEIDECKE FABRIK PHOTOGR, PRAZISIONS-APPARATE]. June 3, 1954 [June 2, 1953], No. 16438/54. Class 9&(1) A protective housing such as a watertight case for a reflex camera -.is provided with an exposure counting device which is operated by a crank arm on the housing, which crank arm also operates the filmwinding crank of the camera. As shown, a crank arm 8 having an operating knob 9 is mounted on a shaft 3 on the watertight housing. The shaft 3 carries at its other end a forked arm (not shown) which engages the film-winding crank of the camera. The counter disc 18, which is mounted on the outside of the housing carries a plurality of pins 17 which are adapted to engage one of two projections 15, 16 on the crank arm. When the arm is turned in the direction of the arrow to wind on the film, the projection 16 engages one of the pins 17 and the counter is turned one half a division. At the end of a film-winding operation the arm is returned to its rest position by rotating it in the opposite direction, when the other projection 15 engages the same pin and moves the disc forward a further half division.
