Abstract
789,431. Forced-flow steam boilers. LA MONT INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION, Ltd. May 1, 1956, No. 13423/56. Class 123(2) A forced-recirculation boiler comprises a steam-and-water drum 1 from which water is withdrawn by a circulating pump 3 and discharged into a pipe 5 which is connected to a number of distributer headers 7 by proportioning tubes 6. A group of evaporating tubes 8 extends from each of the headers 7 to a common collector 9 which is connected to the drum 1. Each tube group consists of adjacent substantially equally heated evaporating tubes so that the pressure drop in all the tubes of one group is the same, whereas the evaporation and consequently the pressure drop may vary slightly from group to group. To ensure adequate control of flow to each group and stability of flow in the tubes 8, the tubes 6 are dimensioned so that the pressure drop therein equals or exceeds that in the evaporating tubes of of the respective group, this additional pressure drop serving to reduce and render negligible the influence of pressure drop variations between the tube groups.
