Abstract

786,681. Shearing. SCHLOEMANN AKT.- GES. Sept. 30, 1955 [Oct. 18, 1954], No. 27849/55. Class 83 (4). A bow shear for cutting the waste ends of rolled ingots and having a pivoted lower blade carrier 2, is provided with pneumatically or hydraulically-actuated push-rods 6 supported on the lower blade carrier 2 and serving to push the sheared waste ends into a collecting trough. The push-rods 6 are positioned on each side of the lower blade and are formed as cylinders in which slide pistons 8 rigidly connected to the lower blade carrier 2. Valves control the supply of fluid under pressure to either end of the cylinders and a further valve is automatically operated to prevent extension of the push-rods 6 during the cutting stroke.
