Abstract

851,710. Cutting stone. TAYLOR, H. L. Sept. 16, 1957 [Sept. 18, 1956], No. 28454/56. Class 124. A device for cutting breeze and like blocks comprises a support for one side of the block, a blade having a series of saw-like teeth engaging the opposite side of the block, and hydraulic means for causing rleative movement of the support and blade towards and away from one another. As shown, a breeze block may be placed on a support 17 movable by a hydraulic ram 22, and a blade 29 having teeth 33 may be adjustably held in supports 14 above the block. The hydraulic ram may then be operated to move the block into contact with the blade and cut it. The support 17 may carry a blade 19 having teeth 33 lying in the same plane as the teeth 34 and slightly offset so that the two sets of teeth intermesh. Two springs 25, 26 return the support 17 to its original position on the release of hydraulic pressure.
