Abstract

786,676. Flow-boxes of paper-making machines. VALMET OY. Aug. 11, 1955 [June 14, 1955], No. 23170/55. Class 96. In a constant-pressure and constant-level flow-box 1 of a paper-making machine, pulp is directed upwardly from an inlet 8, 9 by a wall 22 adjacent to flow-evener rolls 21, so that pulp containing air bubbles or foam &c. is directed to the surface, whence, aided by a rotating paddlewheel or roll 23, it flows over a weir 4 which may have an adjustable top 5. The pulp which overflows falls into a constant-level compartment 7 having a float-controlled outlet valve 15, and is re-cycled. Specification 762,242 is referred to.
