Abstract
798,890. Flow boxes of paper - making machines. DORRIES AKT.-GES., O. Oct. 5, 1956 [Oct. 12, 1955], No. 30432/56. Class 96. Pulp entering a closed-top flow-box through a conduit 1 and riser 2 passes through a flowevener roll 18 to the outlet 11 at the breast roll 19. Excess pulp flows backwardly over a wall at 8 to an overflow 9 which is adjustable in height by a screw-spindle 14 and hand wheel 13. A conduit 15 leading from the lower part of the overflow passageway may have a window enabling the level of the pulp to be ascertained. The upper part 6 of the flow-box is under partial vacuum, air being exhausted at 5.
