819,716. Cleaning felts of paper-making machines. BIRD MACHINE CO. July 30, 1957 [July 31, 1956], No. 42150/58. Divided out of 819,715. Class 96. The description is similar to that in Specification 819,715, but the claims concern the aperture(s) 36 through which suction is applied, to hold the felt against the surface of the plate 30 and to withdraw cleaning fluid which has issued from orifice(s) 32 and which in passing over the face of the plate 30 acts as a lubricant for the moving felt. The arcuate form of the suction aperture(s) 36 tends to spread the felt.
