Abstract

780,587. Fourdrinier paper-making machines. ST. ANNE'S BOARD MILL CO., Ltd. June 16, 1955 [July 23, 1954], No. 21505/54. Class 96. In a Fourdrinier paper- or board-making machine, the flow of pulp water is restricted by leading it into a tapering gap between the wire cloth 2 and an upper permeable member, e.g. a short upper wire cloth 19, movable therewith, and some of the water is withdrawn upwardly through the upper cloth as disclosed in Specification 748,597, and is assisted by a current of air in its flow into and along a sloping passageway 35 leading to a suction enclosure 21 from which a high-speed current of low pressure air is withdrawn. Suction is also applied to a box 36 within the roll 8.
