In a circular knitting-machine in which a yarn a is fed from a thread guide 1 to alternate needles N<SP>1</SP> and alternate loop-holding instruments P<SP>2</SP>, and a yarn b from a guide 21 is fed to intervening needles N<SP>2</SP> and intervening loopholding instruments P<SP>1</SP>, the alternate needles N<SP>1</SP> knit the yarn a together with held loops which were drawn over the intervening instruments P<SP>1</SP> during the third preceding course to produce two-thread stitches in alternate wales to form one course; and the next course is formed by the intervening needles N<SP>2</SP> knitting the yarn b together with held loops, which were drawn over the alternate instruments P<SP>2</SP> during the third course preceding said next course, thus producing two-thread stitches in the intervening wales. The resulting fabric is shown in Fig. 1.
