A fluid-pressure operated friction clutch B is arranged in parallel with an hydraulic coupling A, both of which are engageable and disengageable separately or together as desired. The clutch B is of the type. having a pair of V- grooved discs 7 axially slidable to engage with correspondingly grooved outer members 4 and actuated by fluid-pressure through channels 10, 12 in one shaft 6. The coupling A is supplied with fluid through channel 8 in shaft 4 and controlled by an emptying ring 9. Specification 695,987 is referred to.
