Abstract
783,556. Preheating and charging granular materials. KLOCKNER-HUMBOLDT-DEUTZ AKT.-GES. March 18, 1955 [March 20, 1954], No. 7942/55. Addition to 710,236. Class 51 (2). In the apparatus for preheating granular material by means of waste gases from a kiln as disclosed in the parent Specification, the counterweighted flap valves 7 controlling the passage of material towards the kiln from each cyclone separator, is formed with a slot 9 allowing the passage of material when the valve is closed. Each flap valve is pivotally connected to a pair of parallel levers 10 pivoted on a rotatable shaft 2 but at right angles outside the casing 6 to form the lever 3 carrying the adjustable counterweight 4. The modification is applied to the case in which two flap valves are disposed in the form of a V below the delivery pipe 1, Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown).
