Abstract

800,877. Pneumatic conveyers. SIMON, Ltd., H. Oct. 4, 1956 [Dec. 28, 1955], No. 37084/55. Class 78 (1). A closed air circuit system for granular or powdered material comprises a pipe b which contains a fan a, a venturi tube e to the throat of which a hopper c is connected, and a cyclone type separator g which separates the material from the air in the system and delivers it to atmosphere through a rotary sealed type of outlet h. The venturi tube e has a pivoted portion p by adjustment of which the relative sizes of the outlet and throat areas can be varied. The pressure drop in the pipe between the venturi and the outlet h may be regulated by deforming a flexible part q of the pipe by movable members f. The flow of material from the hopper c may be regulated by adjusting the position of the plate r. A pipe i containing a valve allows air to by-pass the fan in regulated quantity as desired. An adjustable air leak valve m on the delivery side of the fan regulates air admission to or delivery from the system.
