Abstract

783,496. Lifejackets. KIDDE CO., Ltd., W. March 1, 1956 [March 4, 1955], No. 6471/55. Class 77 An inflator comprising a gas capsule 1 and release mechanism 2 as described in Specification 783,497 [Group XXVIII], is secured to a lifejacket 15 through the intermediary of a connector 9 clamped to the jacket and in rotatable connection with the inflator. For this purpose the inflator has a stepped recess 6 into which the connector slidably fits. It is retained therein by a pin 8 which is thrust into a bore drilled in the inflator body such that it communicates with the recess so that the pin when in place presents a protuberance in the recess for engagement with a groove 12 formed in the connector. A gas-sealing ring 11 is provided between connector and recess and a non- return valve 10 is located in the connector.
